Description:

"It's My Duty to Speak Out" A Film by Scott Galindez Marine Corporal Grant Collins describes what it was like to participate in the war in Iraq. He also describes what it is like to live with giving orders that resulted in the deaths of civilians. I posted this video from truthout.org for two reasons: 1) because it simply should be seen by as many people as possible, 2) every other copy that I found on YouTube had been placed there by people with a very different and very negative political/social agenda than the video represents. I think it is better served posted cleanly and in the original context it was intended for.

It's called personal responsibility for the decisions you make, that's how nufan3303 figures Bush can take the blame. The Iraqi people there now are not the same ones that were dancing in the streets when the Americans rolled into town. They are beat down and desparate. Many of us would react in a similar way if we lost loved ones to an occupying force. Tell me I'm wrong.

He sent in the army to get a dictator who once tried to kill his Pappy. While there, the army killed a few innocent folks. For every innocent person that died, you probably get about 5-10 normal folks that all of sudden becaome "terrorists" (revenge). Repeat cycle many times over and you get a country full of people who want to see US soldiers die. Do you need it spelled out more or do you get it yet? Idiot.

You are taking their oil. Or at least Cheney and his boys are, and still making you pay $3 a gallon for it. Iraqis pay 15 cents or less per gallon. If they were selling it and getting the money maybe their infrastructure would be repaired or their armed forces would see some cash to secure the place. It's out of their hands now. Mission accomplished. When the US troops pull out, you can bet they'll still be stationed in the oil fields and around the refineries for decades to come.

Yes you are, it's called acceptable collateral damage. While I won't defend Saddam's methods, he kept three cultural groups from killing each other in the streets. He was supported by the US too, dontcha know? Iraq was an artificial invention of borders drawn up by retreating Brits. A dictator is required in that situation. Democracy in that country will only result in genocide until one group remains. Lots more killing to come. Do your homework before invading a country next time, idiot.

your an idiot. we ar enot killing innocent civilians on purpose, like saddam did. what did saddam offer his people? we are offering them democracy, the most efficient political system. we are offering them the chance to have a stable economy, so they can support themselves. and stfu. dont compare the death rates. saddam killed over 15 million people.
