bignewgame ::: Favorites Oh yeah, matter can be created, otherwise it would not be at all. The theory of Thermal Dynamics is in error. Though I do believe it cannot be destroyed but only changes forms. 07-11-02 22:50:25 __________________________________________________
bignewgame ::: Favorites So smart and yet so stupid at the same time. Warping of space and time on a flat plane is so wrong. Still does not explain why all planets, even in distant solar systems, are on the same plane in the first place and not randomly rotating around the stars on different planes. I know why and too explains how matter "is" made. 07-11-02 22:46:30 __________________________________________________
squee27 ::: Favorites Spacetime is 4 dimensions: 3 spacial and 1 temporal. We can't picture that so we use representative diagrams of a 2D sheet of spacetime. 5D has roots in Kaluza-Klein theory which attempted to unify gravitation and electrodynamics. 07-11-01 23:55:27 __________________________________________________
trance4mation ::: Favorites well planets arent baseballs nor marbels, you have to ask yourself how magnets work. electromagnetivity also plays a part in physics and astronomy. there is a connection between the very large physical universe and the very small, even smaller than atoms and electrons. 07-10-19 02:27:32 __________________________________________________
firpo3 ::: Favorites i like how they explained how a ripple in water with a stone serves the same way in space with planets, and how light curves around the planets,amazing.....never seen it that way. 07-10-16 10:06:06 __________________________________________________
discountzone ::: Favorites ok i really have a weird question here what are the dimension of spacetime? and here they are talking about two dimension of space and a single dimension of time what is that actually means ? and i've heard so many people talks about 5th dimensions etc..what are the dimension of spacetime i really need an explanation ! 07-10-14 17:22:04 __________________________________________________
squee27 ::: Favorites It is also worth noting that the planets do spiral into the Sun. But the nonconservative forces that do this are small and the planet's momentum large enough that this spiral motion is insignificant over the lifetime of the Sun. Objects with much less momentum suffer this fate. Such as comets which get too close to the Sun will eventually (elliptically) spiral into it. 07-10-05 09:32:03 __________________________________________________
5thsfgru ::: Favorites the plane that you see is just the plane to the reference of the objects in the system of the equation. The plain extends outward in an infinite amount of directions. If the object was below the earth the plane would extend downwards...but in all reality there is no set up and down...its all relative to the point of reference. 07-09-29 01:17:32 __________________________________________________
5thsfgru ::: Favorites Look to Newtons 1st laws of motion, An object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by a net force. On the bed sheet the marbles are acted upon by a force called friction...They loose velocity because of this and fall into the baseball. In space there is no friction to act upon the the planets velocity. If you look into keplers laws of planetary motion youll see that when the planets get closer to the sun there velocity around the sun actually increases. 07-09-29 01:13:17 __________________________________________________
bizzy001 ::: Favorites Now another question, for example, if the sun bends the fabric of space, how come planets don't spiral into it? When you place a baseball on a bed sheet fully stretched out, it curves it just like in the example, if you place marbles on those curves and push them forward they will spiral in until they hit the baseball. Why doesn't this work the same way with planets? 07-09-12 09:49:17 __________________________________________________ |
