to be honest its going into a joemeek mq1 preamp that connects to the soundcard a delta 24/96 then i put some plugin fx on it in nuendo. I get a similar tone live i use a yamaha bbt500h and 2 ebs 210 evolution cabs.

good stuff. i personally am not a bass player as such, i play guitar, but have played bass in bands and jammin with my mate, but am seriously considering switching to bass as my main instrument.

Nice playing! This is one of a few gems Deacon Blue wrote, most of which have great bass playing. Great bass and good tone as well. Just one thing, in the verse, it changes to a C# in the 4th bar, then back to E, then it changes to B in the 8th bar. You're playing the B every time.

Thank you for that video! I absolutely love DEACON BLUE and I have just bought myself a bass guitar. Seeing you playing that well inspires me to try and learn how to play the bass. Could you be so kind as to inform me how I could best get started? I know that taking lessons would probably be the best idea but I don't think that I will be able to spend any money on lessons. Is there a DIY way to learning to play the bass? Cheers and all the best, CU Ron (Ron @ kuss - tv . net)

Hi Ron theres never been a better time to learn bass than now. Theres so much on youtube alone that will help ypu progress. To make yourself a good player you need to be in to good music so your already half way there.
