idiot AFYONMeMo, In 1965 the aircraft received the popular name Corsair II, after Vought's highly successful F4U Corsair of World War Two. read before you speak

Why would "Corsars" (Corsairs?)from Italy fly from a French Island, Corse (Corsica), with Greek blue and white markings. Very strange.

GigiM2007, to the best of my knowledge, Corsairs were actually made by the Ling-Temco-Vought corporation( now Vought Aircraft Inc.)during the 60's, 70's and 80's in USA. I have worked for Vought for nearly 30 years and remember seeing them on the assembly line in the late 70's. We marketed a stretch version designated the YA-7F but the A-7 was taken out of service around 1990 because its technology simply could not match the newer fighter aircraft coming into service.
